The House Ethics Committee panel on Rep. Mark Foley's (R FL) sexual advances on under-aged pages rejected Hastert's contention that he couldn't recall separate warnings from two House Republican leaders. But the pane said Hastert, nor other GOP House members, broke no rules and should not be punished.
Hastert said he was pleased the committee found "there was no violation of any House rules by any member or staff."
The panel's most important "finding" is that House rules allow members of Congress to lie. Granted, the panel didn't state that finding, but we can read between the lines.
My message to Democratic wing of the plutocrats: You better tighten your rules before the unwashed masses tighten them for you.
