Glenn Beck & Goldline's Tag-Team Scam

I bought gold bullion at 600$ / oz.... it's now around $1,100. It's just a hedge against paper money going bust. Nothing wrong with that.

BUT... some unprincipled elements in the right-wing are exploiting fear and pushing bad gold purchases. Glenn Beck and Goldline International have been exposed in a Mother Jones article entitled Glenn Beck's Golden Fleece.

In short, Beck is pushing Goldline, and Goldline is hard-selling old 90% gold coins that have a buy-back value that is about 30% - 35% less than what they sell for (regular gold bullion buy-back spread is about 5%). They argue that it's "safer" to buy "antique" coins, because the U.S. Government is less likely to confiscate them (grain of truth alert).

It's a scam, plain and simple. Ironically, it's the Glenn Beck followers who are getting screwed.

Poplawski a Right Wing Talk Radio Listener?

How much you want to bet that Pittsburgh cop killer Richard Poplawski listens to the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Mike (Weiner) Savage, Michele Bachmann, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity?

Limbaugh, Weiner, Bachmann, Beck and Hannity, among others, are whipping up unwarranted fear and creating a scapegoat mentality across the country. They are a threat to social stability. They're yelling "fire" in theater while making millions. Their irresponsible behavior makes them responsible.

Another Couric Video Notebook Error?

Noted as "A sign of the declining modern media," among other things, d-day blog finds another Katie Couric Video Notebook misrepresentation (no video on this one). How many more are there?

On April 13, 2007, d-day blog reports, in Zombie Lies that Katie Couric's video notebook repeated the rumor that Barack Obama had been educated in an Islamic madrassa. Compare the original and revised versions. This was reported on by media matters. In particular, they expose CNN's Glenn Beck for perpetuating the rumor.
